BOSTON – Adam Ottavino – Northeastern's career record holder in strikeouts, the 2005 America East Pitcher of the Year and eight-year MLB reliever – has been named the VIP guest speaker of the 2019 Northeastern Baseball Leadoff Fundraiser, as announced by head coach Mike Glavine on Monday.
 
The 2019 Leadoff Fundraiser will take place on Saturday, Jan. 19, on the Dell EMC Club Level of Fenway Park. All are cordially invited to attend the VIP cocktail hour – beginning at 4 p.m. and featuring Adam Ottavino – as well as the event reception, which will follow and run from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
 
An annual preseason occasion, the Leadoff Fundraiser serves as the ceremonious start to the Northeastern baseball team's spring campaign, which will officially begin on Friday, Feb. 15, at Houston Baptist. With the backdrop of one of baseball's most iconic cathedrals, Fenway Park, the event provides its guests with the stage to share in Northeastern baseball's past, present and future, as the program approaches its centennial campaign by embarking on its 99th season.
 
During the reception, the Northeastern baseball team will honor the 2019 recipient of its Distinguished Friend of the Program award, Kris Dabrowiecki. A four-year pitcher for the Huskies (2005-08) and Class of 2009 graduate, Dabrowiecki is an active member on the Northeastern baseball alumni committee and serves as Chair of the university's Young Alumni Board.
 
Throughout the evening, guests will be invited to bid for auction items, win raffle prizes and purchase 2019 Northeastern baseball merchandise.
 
Tickets granting admission at 4 p.m. to the VIP cocktail hour with Adam Ottavino are available at $250 and include admission to the ensuing reception, access to the open bar, as well as a gift from the Northeastern baseball program. General admission tickets, which will only provide access to the event reception from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., are available at $125.
 
Guests arriving at Fenway Park on Jan. 19 may access the Dell EMC Club Level by its entrance located at 20 Jersey Street (formerly Yawkey Way).
 
Sponsorship opportunities for the Leadoff Fundraiser are available to all corporations, groups and individuals at the following four tier groups:

• Grand Slam sponsor:  $3,000
• Home Run sponsor:  $1,500
• RBI sponsor:  $500
