BOSTON –
For the second time this season, Northeastern men's hockey center Tyler Madden is the Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week, as announced by Hockey East on Monday. Madden had a goal and three assists in a 7-2 victory at Merrimack on Saturday night.

Madden played a part in four of Northeastern's seven goals against the Warriors, helping the Huskies to their sixth straight win. He got going with the primary assist on Patrick Schule's sixth of the season, wiring a pass from the right side of the zone across to a waiting Schule at the left post.

The Deerfield Beach, Fla. native then put up three points in the third period alone, picking up secondary helpers on goals from Eric Williams and Grant Jozefek on the power play. Madden then put the game on ice with an empty net, shorthanded tally with 1:17 to play in regulation.

Madden enters the holiday break with six goals and nine assists, good for a tie for second on the team and tied for sixth in the NCAA among rookies. He has six points (two goals, four assists) in his last four games, and is also a +6 in that span.

He has points in nine of the 14 games he's played, and the Huskies are 7-1-1 when he's on the scoresheet this season. Madden is also Northeastern's top face-off man, taking 216 draws so far with year going 104-of-216 (48.1%).

Last week, Madden was named to United States preliminary roster for the U.S. National Junior Team. Madden, along with teammate Cayden Primeau and associate head coach Jerry Keefe, will head to Everett, Wash. this week for camp, which will serve as part of the selection process in determining the final Team USA roster for the 2019 IIHF World Junior Championship.

Northeastern is off for the next three weeks, and will return to the ice on Dec. 28 when the Huskies take on RPI in the Catamount Cup at Gutterson Fieldhouse in Burlington, Vt. Northeastern is 8-1-1 in its last 10 games and winners of six straight, the longest active streak in the NCAA. The Huskies also headed into the holiday break with a 6-1-1 mark in Hockey East play, currently tied for third place in the league standings, and has 10 wins before Christmas for the second straight season.
