THREE THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT FRIDAY'S MATCHUP:
• Northeastern (13-12-3, 9-9-2 WHEA) will look to get back in the win column on Friday when it heads south to face UConn (9-11-8, 3-10-5 WHEA) at 7 p.m. This will be the third and final meeting between the teams this season; NU won both prior matchups by two goals, 4-2 on Jan. 9, and 5-3 on Jan. 19.
Matti Hartman has scored three of her six goals this season against the other Huskies, including her first collegiate two-goal game in the most recent meeting.
• Senior defender
Lauren Kelly has elevated her game as the season has progressed, chipping in seven goals and nine points over her last 10 contests. With one more point, Kelly would become the ninth blue-liner in program history to record at least 60 career points. The last NU defender to record at least 60 points in her collegiate career was
Heather Mottau, who finished with 83 points between 2013-17.
• With just four Hockey East games remaining on the schedule, Northeastern finds itself tied for fourth in the league standings with 20 points. The Huskies are level with UNH in the points column (and own the head-to-head tiebreaker after winning two of three meetings), however the Wildcats have played one fewer game thus far. Northeastern is two points behind Maine in third and four points back of Providence in second. Boston College is the only team to clinch its postseason position as the Eagles locked up the No. 1 seed last weekend.
