BOSTON – The Huskies will stay close to home this weekend for the New England Championships at the Reggie Lewis Center. Both the men's and women's team are looking to defend their titles from the 2016-17 indoor season.

The meet will feature 13 track events, six field events and two multi events. The multi events begin on Friday at 10 a.m. with the heptathlon 60 meters. Field events will begin at 12 p.m. and track events starting at 1:40 p.m. Field events will kick off with the men's pole vault and track event will begin with the men's 400 meters.

The Northeastern men's team took first place two weeks ago at the Joe Donahue Games. The Huskies posted 23 top-three finishes and 33 top-five finishes on their way to their second first-place finish of the indoor season.

Ryan Kim finished first in the shot put for the fourth time this season, while Erica Mellusi took first in the weight throw and third in the shot put.
Dan Romano posted a new personal best on his way to a first-place finish in the mile.

Quinn Literland crossed first in the 500 meters, and
David Adams took fourth in the 60 meter hurdles, with a season-best time.
Â
The women's team earned second place, with seven event titles.
Erica Belvit earned first place in the weight throw, with a new personal best throw, while
Leeyan Redwood took first place in the shot put.
Kerri Ruffo,
Brooke Wojeski and
Corinne Myers all finished first in the 3000m, mile and 1000m, respectively.

Last season at the New England Championships, both the men's and women's secured first place. Northeastern posted 31 personal best times/marks and 13 Northeastern top-10 marks.

Nick Fofana set a new school record in the men's heptathlon, breaking the program high set by Stefano Combi during the 2011-12 season.
Katie Hanlon also secured a new school record in the 500 meters.

Leeyan Redwood all finished in the top-three in the shot put.
Austin Lin grabbed the top spot in the 500 meters, while
Jessica Scott took second place in the 60 meters.
