NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – After falling behind 3-0 early in the second period, the Northeastern women's hockey team (14-14-3, 10-10-2 WHEA) staged a dramatic comeback with four unanswered goals, including three in the third, to edge Merrimack, 4-3, on Saturday evening at Lawler Rink.
Senior
Lauren Kelly scored two power-play goals, including the game-tying strike with 2:55 remaining in the third period, before sophomore
Matti Hartman won the game with the decisive tally just 46 seconds later, knocking home a rebound at the right of the cage following a point-shot by
Skylar Fontaine.
Senior
Taytum Clairmont, who was instrumental in setting up three goals, dished out two assists including a pivotal face-off win that led directly to Kelly's game-tying goal late in the game. Junior
Kasidy Anderson also notched a multi-point effort with a goal and a helper.
Freshman goaltender
Aerin Frankel came on in relief midway through the opening frame, and kept Merrimack (11-18-3, 6-14-2 WHEA) in check with 19 saves on 20 shots.

Lauren Kelly notched her 10th and 11th goals of the season to become the first NU defender since Kim Greene in 2002-03 to score double-digit goals.
• Kelly's eight power-play goals are the most among all D-I defenders this season, and the second-most in the country among all players.

Matti Hartman scored her team-leading third game-winning goal of the season. Three of Hartman's seven total goals (43 percent) have been game-winners.Â
• Northeastern erased a three-goal deficit to come back to win for the first time since a 5-4 victory over Mercyhurst on Oct. 16, 2015.
