BOSTON – The Northeastern women's hockey team (14-15-3, 10-10-2 WHEA) will battle for playoff positioning this weekend as the regular season concludes with a home game vs. Vermont on Friday (7 p.m.) and a road game at Providence on Sunday (2 p.m.). Friday's contest will be Senior Night at Matthews Arena as NU will honor its seven-member graduating class.

SENIOR SENDOFF
McKenna Brand, Taytum Clairmont, Shelby Herrington, Lauren Kelly, Denisa Krizova, Ainsley MacMillan and Christina Zalewski will be honored prior to puck drop as part of the Senior Day festivities. The senior class has accounted for 78 wins and over 450 combined points over the past four seasons and helped Northeastern to its first-ever NCAA tournament appearance in 2016.

PLAYOFF PICTURE
Entering the final weekend of the regular season, Northeastern currently occupies the No. 5 spot in the Hockey East standings, one point back of UNH for the fourth and final home-ice position. NU can finish no lower than fifth in the standings, but can still improve its position based on action around the league. New Hampshire finishes the season with a home-and-home series vs. Boston University, while the Huskies wrap up against Vermont and Providence.

BLUE CHIP BLUELINER
Senior Lauren Kelly enters the weekend with the most power-play goals among NCAA D-I defenders with eight. Kelly's 11 total goals are the third-most among blue-liners in the country, and represent the most for any NU defender since Kim Greene scored 15 in 2002-03. Kelly scored 14 goals in her first 119 collegiate games, before scoring 10 goals in her last 14 games overall.
