BOSTON – Equipped with another quartet of double-digit scorers, including freshmen Stella Clark and Jasmin Watson, the Northeastern women's basketball team earned a comfortable, 79-61, victory against Towson during Friday's Play4Kay Game at Cabot Center, reclaiming sole possession of fifth place in the CAA standings with four regular-season games remaining.

Clark, who made her fourth start of the 2017-18 season and first since Dec. 17 against Vermont, scored in double figures for the second consecutive game and eighth time this year, totaling 15 points behind junior Jess Genco's team high, 17. Watson sported 12 points off the bench courtesy of her three 3-point field goals, while Shannon Todd contributed 10 points as well within the starting rotation.

Northeastern (13-12, 8-6 CAA) shot 49 percent from the floor and funneled in 11 3-point baskets, outscoring Towson (9-16, 4-10 CAA) by 13 points in transition, nine points off turnovers, and 18 points in bench scoring. The Huskies took the lead for the final time during the closing seconds of the first quarter and never looked back, carrying a seven-point edge into halftime (37-30) before leading by double-digits during the final 13 and a half minutes of regulation.

Gabby Giacone collected a team high, seven rebounds, while Clark backed up her 15 points with three boards, four assists, and two steals. Todd also registered two of the Huskies' nine steals, which were the most Northeastern has recorded since Jan. 26 against Delaware.

Danielle Durjan accounted for a third of Towson's offensive production, notching 20 points, six rebounds, an assist, and a steal. Durjan buried four of the Tigers' six 3-point field goals. Mary Cuevas provided eight points, seven rebounds, three assists, and two steals for the visitors.

With Friday's result, Northeastern can clinch a CAA quarterfinal berth for the third consecutive season with a win during any of its final four regular-season games.
