DURHAM, N.H. – Cayden Primeau provided 34 saves while Adam Gaudette and Nolan Stevens record a goal and an assist apiece as the No. 11/10 Northeastern men's hockey team (21-8-5, 15-6-3) earned its second straight weekend sweep with a 4-0 victory at New Hampshire (10-18-6, 5-14-5) on Saturday night at the Whittemore Center.

With the win, Northeastern finishes in second place in the Hockey East standings with 33 points (15-6-3), its highest finish since 2008-09 and just the third time in league history that NU has finished in second.

The win also secured the Hockey East regular season scoring title for Gaudette, who posted two points (one goal, one assist) to finish conference play with 35 points (20 goals, 15 assists) to become the second Husky in league history to lead the conference in scoring. In addition, Primeau was named the goaltending champion after leading Hockey East in goals against average in league play. He's the fifth freshman in conference history to win the honor.

Northeastern picked up right where it left off on Friday with a pair of first period goals, the first from Stevens on the doorstep off a turnover by Gaudette before Jeremy Davies extended the lead to two less than a minute later with a laser from the left side.

Out of the intermission, the tide continued to move in the Huskies' direction as Gaudette muscled his way into position atop the crease to hammer home a rebound off a Garrett Cecere shot from the left side for the 3-0 edge just one minute into the second period before Brandon Hawkins buried an empty netter in the final minute of regulation to extend the lead to four

Northeastern, which earned a first round bye and home ice for the Hockey East quarterfinals, will return to action on March 9 against an opponent to be determined. Tickets for the conference quarterfinals are now on sale by visiting tickets.GoNU.com.
