NEWARK, Del. – In a game that came down to the final possession, the Northeastern men's basketball team came away with a 70-67 victory at Delaware on Thursday night. The Huskies (16-9, 9-4) were led by Vasa Pusica who finished with 27 points, for his 10th 20-point effort of the season.

Pusica put the game just out of reach with a pair of free throws with 1.2 seconds remaining in play. After a Ryan Allen 3-point try rimmed out, Anthony Green brought down the miss, while Pusica scooped up the rebound where he was immediately fouled.

After a couple of timeouts, Northeastern head coach Bill Coen put big man Jeremy Miller on the inbounder forcing a bad pass that Bolden Brace was able to swipe away, and off of a Delaware player, to regain possession with half a second left, to seal the win.

Donnell Gresham came up big in the clutch for the Huskies finishing with 17 points including a 3-of-4 effort from beyond the arc while Green added nine points and five rebounds and Brace had eight points, and  a clutch three down the stretch.

Delaware (11-15, 4-9) was led by Ryan Allen who finished with 19 points while Eric Carter ended with a double-double, his eighth of the year, with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

The Blue Hens countered the Huskies 6-0 run to start the game with an 8-0 one of their own making things interesting early on in the first half. The back-and-forth play continued in a half that saw four ties and eight lead changes and ended with the teams knotted at 37 entering halftime.

The back-and-forth affair continued into the second half until the Huskies used a 13-1 run to build a 10-point lead, highlighted by a couple of threes from Gresham and Pusica.

But as soon as the Huskies built the lead up, Delaware rallied back into the game getting as close as one-point before a Brace trey put things out of reach as the Huskies fought for the win.
