Megan Clark finishes up historic season at NCAA Championships

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Sophomore Megan Clark finished a historic season on Saturday at the 2018 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships  in Columbus, Ohio. Clark competed in the 50, 100 and 200 freestyle events at the championships.

Clark kicked off the meet with the 50 freestyle, finishing in 34th overall with a time of 22.50. On Sunday, she competed in the 200 freestyle, placing 48th with a time of 1:47.86.

The Virginia native swam in the 100 freestyle preliminaries on Saturday, taking 30th place overall with a time of 48.78.

Clark was the first swimmer in Northeastern history to qualify for the NCAA Championship, and the first Husky to qualify since diver Adela Gadozeda in 2004. She was also one of two Colonial Athletic Association's swimmers to qualify for this year's championship.

The sophomore broke her own school records and the Colonial Athletic Association records in the 50 and 100 freestyle events at Ohio State's Last Chance Meet.

In February, Clark named the Most Outstanding Women Swimmer at the CAA Championships. She became just the third athlete in CAA Championship history to win the 50, 100 and 200 freestyle events at the same title meet.
