BOSTON – Northeastern track and field will split up this weekend to compete at the Florida Relays and the Raleigh Relays. In total, 14 Huskies will head down to Florida, while 14 travel to Raleigh to compete on Saturday and Sunday.
The Huskies opened up the outdoor season at the Hurricane Invitational down in Coral Gables, Florida. Freshman
Donatien Djero and senior
Kyle Darrow led the way for Northeastern over the two-day competition.
Djero set a new Northeastern records in the 100 meter with a time o 10.46, breaking Lonnie Hooker's record from 1987. The Rhode Island native took first place in the event. Darrow also posted two top-two finishes, taking first in the long jump (7.40m) and second in the 200 meter. He posted with a personal-best time of 20.98 in the 200 meter, second best time in Northeastern history.
Junior
Patrice Williams also posted a personal-best time in the 200 meters, with a time of 24.40, the seventh best time in NU indoor history.
Naukym Morton secured second place in the 100 meter with a time of 10.58, the fifth best time in Northeastern history.

Ryan Kim and
Eric Mellusi all took home a top-10 finishes. Mellusi placed second in the discus, with a personal best mark of 53.47 meters, and fourth place in the hammer throw. Kim earned third place in the shot put, while Belvit finished seventh.
