BOSTON – Northeastern women's soccer alumna
Kayla Cappuzzo signed a professional contract with MTK Hungaria FC, a Budapest-based club in Hungary's premier women's league, as announced Wednesday by the club.
Cappuzzo enjoyed a standout career at Northeastern between 2014-17, helping the Huskies to two CAA championships (2014, 2016) while racking up 59 points in 87 matches. The Merrick, New York native finished her illustrious career as the program's all-time assists leader with 25, following a senior campaign in which she contributed a single-season record nine helpers.
Cappuzzo was honored as a four-time All-CAA performer, including First Team laurels as both a junior and a senior, and earned All-New England accolades (2015, 2016) and NSCAA All-Mid-Atlantic recognition (2016) as well.
In addition, Cappuzzo previously represented the United States Women's National Team (USWNT) at both the U-18 and U-20 levels.
