DURHAM, N.H. – In its final game of the Wildcat Classic, the Northeastern field hockey team fell 2-1 to the University of Massachusetts Sunday afternoon on the campus of the University of New Hampshire.
Camille O'Conor added to her 2018 point total with the Huskies' lone goal of the game coming in the 38
th minute of action while
Lexie Dunleavy registered her first career point, aiding O'Conor's goal.
The Minutewomen got out to a 1-0 lead at the half, notching their first goal in the eighth minute of play. Coming right out of halftime, the Huskies attacked as O'Conor drove down the right side of the field and crossed a pass to Dunleavy who was waiting in the middle of the circle. She kickd a pass back to O'Conor who sent a pass into the low right corner of the goal to even the score.
The two teams fought back and forth for the next 15 minutes of action before UMass tallied the ultimate game-winner in the 54
th minute of play.
The Huskies are back in action with their home opener next Friday, Aug. 31 at Dedham Field when they take on Holy Cross at 6 p.m.
