BOSTON – Departing for two games in the Carolinas this weekend, the Northeastern women's basketball team will first look to hop back on the winning trail on Friday, Feb. 1, when the Huskies make their longest CAA road trip of the season to College of Charleston. Tipoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
COACHES vs. CANCER 3-POINT CHALLENGE
• Throughout the remainder of the 2018-19 regular season, the Northeastern women's basketball team will be participating in the 2019 Coaches vs. Cancer 3-Point Challenge – a national initiative where collegiate and high school basketball teams unite for a common cause to end cancer.

• Northeastern has received votes during 12 consecutive releases of collegeinsider.com's Women's Mid-Major Top 25 poll (longest streak during program history). The Huskies had been ranked among the top 25 during nine straight weeks from Nov. 20 until Jan. 15:

• NU is 1-3 against opponents that have been ranked in the Women's Mid-Major Top 25. The Huskies' lone win took place against No. 15 Maine (Dec. 22) while their three defeats occurred against No. 14 Marist (Dec. 18), No. 12 James Madison (Jan. 13) and No. 16 Drexel (Jan. 18).
• Considering the CAA, the Huskies garnered the third most votes (seven) out of the league's four poll representatives. NU trails No. 12 James Madison and No. 15 Drexel, yet leads Towson (five votes).
• Northeastern's No. 25 ranking on Nov. 20 marked the program's first-ever poll placement under the leadership of fifth-year head coach
Kelly Cole. NU last received votes in the Women's Mid-Major Top 25 poll on Nov. 26, 2013, despite being unranked.
ALL-TIME SERIES
• Northeastern and College of Charleston have played the entirety of their previous 10 series meetings during CAA regular season play. The Huskies lead the all-time series, 7-3, having won six straight matchups and swept each of the last three regular season sets.
• NU has won each of the last five series meetings by an average of 16.2 points per victory. Considering this five-game stretch, Northeastern has led or been tied with Charleston during 98 percent of total minutes played – the Huskies have combined to trail the Cougars for just 4:01 of 200 game minutes (exclusively during the first quarter).
• Northeastern is 4-1 when opposing Charleston at TD Arena.

LAST TIME OUT
• Northeastern witnessed its five-game series winning streak against Hofstra come to an end on Jan. 27 at the David S. Mack Sports & Exhibition Center, where the Huskies received the 78-61 defeat from the Pride.

Gabby Giacone is in pursuit of becoming the 21st member of the Huskies' 1,000-point scoring club. She arrives at Friday's game with 997 career points to her name, needing three points to reach the four-digit benchmark.
• Considering
Jess Genco (1,350 career points) and Giacone, Northeastern last witnessed two active members of its 1,000-point scoring club compete together during the 2012-13 season (Deanna Kerkhof, Kash Cannon).
HUSKIES: HOME AND AWAY
• Northeastern started 8-0 at home for the first time during its modern era (since at least the 1978-79 season).Â
• The Huskies' eight-game winning streak at Cabot Center to begin the 2018-19 season ranks as the program's longest in the facility since NU won 10 consecutive games between Feb. 16, 2012, and Jan. 10, 2013.
• Northeastern is seeking its first road win during its fifth try since Dec. 15 at Providence. The Huskies went 4-0 during their first four road games of the 2018-19 season, collecting victories at Dayton and Florida along the way.
