Bolden Brace scored a game-high 20 points and added 12 rebounds for his first double-double of the season, while
Tomas Murphy tallied a season-best 18 points as Northeastern (2-1) dropped a road contest at UMass (3-0), 80-71, on Tuesday night inside the Mullins Center. The Minutemen shot 62 percent (8-for-13) from behind the arc in the second half.
The nation's leading scorer, Jordan Roland, finished with 14 points on 5-of-11 shooting. UMass had four players in double figures, led by Tre Mitchell with 20 points.
With the score tied at 50 with 11:16 to go, the Minutemen used a 14-4 run over a five-minute span to take a 10-point lead with 6:24 left in the game. The Huskies would get as close as five points, 64-59, after a 3-pointer by Brace, but were unable to get consecutive stops as UMass went on to win its fifth straight over Northeastern.
