Varsity Four A claims title at Foot of the Charles for Huskies

RESULTS

BOSTON - Catherine Eiref (C), Margaret Allen (4), Emma Samek (3), Hannah Axtell (2) and Jazmnyn Knight (1) crossed the finish line with a first-place time of 15:48.1, six seconds ahead of runner-up Boston University, to lead the Northeastern women's rowing team at the Foot of the Charles on Saturday. The race was the final one of the fall for the Huskies.

"We are really proud of how our crews performed today under some tough conditions," said head coach Joe Wilhelm. "These results are even more impressive when you consider we haven't rowed since Tuesday due to cold temps this week. Our goal after the Head of the Charles was to develop greater depth in our squad by the end of the fall season. Our performance today is a reflection of just how hard our entire team has worked this fall, and puts us in a really good place heading into winter training."

The Varsity A team of Kiera Bohen (C), Rose Flanagan (8), Anna Kracklauer (7), Abigail Keane (6), Sydney Hudson (5), Anna Kaplan (4), Richie Costa (3), Monica McEwan (2) and Charlotte Kershaw (1) posted a time of 13:20.4 to finish second behind Harvard. The Varsity Eight B squad of Sara Corey (C), Tess Miller (8), Helaina Howe (7), Ashley Knehans (6), Brooke Doyle (5), Laure Walt (4), Ashley Dodd (3), Madison Kernan (2) and Hannah Siemens (1) posted the fastest time of any Varsity B teams with a time of 13:35.8.

Teams that competed this afternoon were Northeastern, Harvard, Boston University and Dartmouth.
