BOSTON – The No. 13 readies for a two-game homestand this weekend, welcoming the Maine Black Bears to Matthews Arena, Nov. 22-23. Puck drop for both contests is set for 7 p.m. and will be broadcast on NESNplus.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW

1. Oro-not in our house - The Huskies ready to host Maine this weekend, Nov. 22-23, for a two-game homestand at Matthews Arena. This weekend marks the first time the two teams will meet on the ice in the 2019-20 campaign. Last time the Huskies and the Black Bears squared off, Northeastern bested the conference foe in the Hockey East tournament, dropping Maine 2-1 in the second game of the quarterfinals. The win marked Northeastern's sixth-consecutive victory over Maine in recent history and moved the Huskies to 51-57-19 in the all-time series with the Black Bears. Heading into the weekend, Northeastern holds a recent win advantage, besting Maine in 13 out of the last 15 meetings on the ice.

Maine recently secured a pair of wins over New Hampshire last weekend, taking down the Wildcats, 3-1, before locking down a 2-1 OT victory to sweep the series. Seniors Tim Doherty (6G, 8A) and Mitchell Fossier (2G, 12A) lead the Black Bears in points through 12 games with 14 points apiece. The duo of Eduards Tralmaks and Jacob Schmidt-Svejstrup have a team-high seven goals each heading into this weekend's series.

2. Freshmen firepower - Northeastern rookies came out firing last weekend, with three newcomers registering career-firsts in the Huskies' 7-3 decision over then No. 10/10 Providence at Matthews Arena. After the Friars took an early 1-0 lead, defenseman Mike Kesselring knocked in a goal on the doorstep to register his first career-goal and point as a Husky. In the second period, Jeremie Bucheler and Jayden Struble kept the freshman success going, with Bucheler picking up a career-first goal and Struble tallying his first assist in the Red and Black. In addition to his career-first goal, Bucheler registered an assist on Tyler Madden's empty-netter for his first collegiate multi-point game. Fellow freshman Aidan McDonough also contributed to Saturday night's freshmen firepower, registering an assist on the night to continue his three-game scoring streak.

3. On the dot - Junior Zach Solow is currently ranked second in the conference and tied for fifth in the nation in faceoff wins with 129. Through 12 games, the Naples, Fla. native leads the team on the dot and owns a .529 faceoff percentage.
