Roland Scores 39 in Win Over Boston University, 72-67

Jordan Roland scored a career-high 39 points and Tyson Walker added 11 points in his collegiate debut to lead Northeastern (1-0) to a 72-67 win over crosstown rival Boston University (0-1) on Tuesday night in the season opener inside Case Gym. The Huskies shot 56 percent (14-for-25) from the floor in the second half and went 8-for-9 from the free-throw line to close out the game.

With the score tied at 65 with under 1 minute remaining, Bolden Brace knocked down a deep 3-pointer with 35 seconds left to give the Huskies a 68-65 lead. After a missed three by BU, Roland made a pair of free throws and finished 4-for-4 down the stretch from the charity stripe to close out the game.

After missing last season with an injury, Maxime Boursiquot reached double figures with 10 points on 4 of 7 shooting. Brace added a game-high nine rebounds for the Huskies.

BU had two players in double figures, led by Walter Whyte with 23 points. Alex Vilarino finished with 17 points and six boards for the Terriers.
