BOSTON – The Northeastern men's basketball team (5-5) will head to the Motor City for the final non-conference games of the season at Eastern Michigan (8-1) on Tuesday night and Detroit Mercy on Thursday night. The game at EMU can be watched on ESPN+ and Detroit Mercy's game will air on ESPN3.
ROLAND TABBED 25TH-BEST PLAYER BY ESPN.COM
Senior Jordan Roland was selected as one of the nation's top 25 players, announced by ESPN.com on Dec. 11th. A native of Syracuse, N.Y., Roland leads the country with 250 points scored and was recently named to the Oscar Robertson Trophy Watch List for the nation's top player. He has reached 20 or more points in 7 of 10 games this year, and shoots over 64 percent from 2-point range, and 46 percent from 3-point range. (Roland's father Rahsaah played hoops at University of Detroit Jesuit and hails from Detroit ... He played college basketball at Mercyhurst)
EBOIGBODIN RETURNS TO THE D
Sophomore Greg Eboigbodin helped lead the University of Detroit Jesuit to the 2016 MHSAA Class A State Championship during his junior season, finishing with a perfect 28-0 record. Eboigbodin posted 13.8 points and 13.4 rebounds per game during his senior campaign where U-D Jesuit lost in the state quarterfinals and finished 20-4. He has started in 5 of 10 games for the Huskies, scoring a career-best 13 points in the final game of the Gulf Coast Showcase in Florida against Weber State.
OFFENSIVE MINDED
The Huskies continue to be one of the top perimeter teams in the country. Northeastern is No. 3 in the nation in free throw percentage (.819), No. 4 in three-point field goal percentage (.423) and No. 11 in field goal percentage (.503). The Huskies are a perfect 5-0 this season when shooting 50 percent or better from the floor.
