WAKEFIELD, Mass. – After a five-point weekend en route to the No. 12 Northeastern men's hockey team ringing the Belpot at the 2019 Friendship Four, captain Ryan Shea was tabbed the Hockey East Player of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday.
 
The Milton, Mass. native served as a critical play maker for the Huskies this weekend, opening the two-day tournament with a multi-point performance in Northeastern's 4-0 shutout against conference rival New Hampshire. After opening the Huskies' scoring campaign with a goal in the second period, Shea dished out assists on Zach Solow's power-play goal and TJ Walsh's third period tally to finish the night with three points.
 
The forward continued his scoring success in Saturday night's championship game against Colgate, picking up an assist on Tyler Madden's power-play point, before knocking in the game-winning empty net goal for the Huskies. For his performance across the two-day tournament, Shea was tabbed the Player of the Tournament as well as Saturday night's Player of the Game. With his back-to-back multi-point showings, the senior extended his current point-scoring streak to seven straight games. 
 
Shea and the Huskies are back in action this weekend with a conference clash against cross-town rival Boston University on Saturday, December 7. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m.
