BOSTON – Seeking its fifth straight victory, the Northeastern women's basketball team will look to assert itself against another crosstown rival on Sunday, Dec. 29, when the Huskies visit Boston University at Case Gym. Sunday's game will air live on the Patriot League Network with coverage beginning at 2 p.m.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW
1. One for the Thumb:  Northeastern is pursuing its third winning streak of five games or more since the beginning of the 2018-19 season and its fourth under the leadership of sixth-year head coach Kelly Cole. Last year, the Huskies' 81-51, season-opening victory against Boston University started their program record, nine-game winning streak, carrying NU through the majority of its non-conference schedule. With a win on Sunday against the Terriers, Northeastern would complete a sweep of its four-game December schedule, achieving its second undefeated month during as many seasons (November 2018).

2. Rivalry Fever:  With its home facilities separated by less than three miles, Northeastern and Boston University have met at least once annually since the 1977-78 season. The Huskies have won seven of the series' last nine meetings, including five of the six season-opening contests that took place consecutively from 2013 to 2018. Northeastern trails the all-time series, 39-37, having posted a 7-7 record against BU since departing the Terriers and the America East at the conclusion of the 2004-05 campaign.

3. Defensive Fury:  Defense has been Northeastern's forte during its active four-game winning streak, which has witnessed NU consistently meet its 64-point defensive benchmark. Since Nov. 30, the Huskies are holding opponents to 36 percent shooting from the field and 52.5 points per contest – the later of which marks a 26-point turnaround from Northeastern's first six games of the season. Considering takeaways, NU is playing to the +6.8 average in turnover differential during its current streak and has finished +8 or better in points off turnovers during three of its four wins.
