FORT MYERS, Fla. – Scott Holzwasser's two-RBI, game-tying single five batters into the eighth inning helped turn the Northeastern baseball team's comeback vision into a reality on Thursday night as the Huskies rallied for four late-inning runs to upend Missouri, 4-3, during a neutral-site game at City of Palms Park.

Trailing the Tigers, 3-0, through seven innings, Northeastern (2-2) loaded the bases just three batters into the eighth inning. After freshman outfielder Jared Dupere had been pegged with Tyler LaPlante's inning-opening delivery, Michael Geaslen and Jeff Costello connected on back-to-back singles, prompting Missouri (2-3) to head into its bullpen.

With Cameron Dulle on the mound, Dupere beat the throw to the plate from Cam Walsh's weak dribbler to the right side of the infield, putting the Huskies on the scoreboard. Facing a 1-2 count during the ensuing at-bat, Holzwasser knocked his lone hit of the game to left field, plating Geaslen and Costello to knot the score at 3-3.

After Missouri had managed to post the inning's first two outs, NU capitalized on two wild pitches by Dulle that allowed Walsh to score the go-ahead run.

Andrew Misiasazek collected the final six defensive outs for Northeastern that sealed the victory and provided the senior closer with his 20th career save, bringing him one shy of Mike Fitzgerald's program record (21).

Despite being outhit, 9-6, by Missouri on Thursday, the Huskies' win improved their record to 4-4 during their last eight games against the SEC. Ryan Solomon accounted for Northeastern's lone extra-base hit during the evening – a fifth-inning double.

Tyler Brown lasted five complete innings during his second start of the season, striking out five batters yet walking five. Josh Winkler bridged the gap between Brown and Misiaszek, stranding runners at third base during each of his two middle relief innings.
