BOSTON– The weekend homestand continues when the Northeastern men's basketball team plays host to Elon on Saturday afternoon at Matthews Arena. During the game the Huskies will be looking for the season sweep of the Phoenix, for the second-straight season.

The Huskies and Phoenix will square off at 4 p.m. in a game that can be found on NESN.

Here is what you need to know about Saturday's game:

THREE THINGS TO KNOW:

  1. Huskies, Phoenix go head-to-head

  • Elon enters Saturday afternoon's game on a two-game losing streak, falling against Drexel at hoe last Saturday and dropping a tough 102-61 game at Hofstra on Thursday night
  • The two losses halted a two-game win streak over UNCW and Delaware
  • Elon is 8-17 overall and are 4-6 on the road this year and 2-4 away from home in conference action with wins over William & Mary and UNCW
  • The team's 4-8 conference record sits in a tie for eighth in the CAA

LEADING THE WAY
  • Elon senior forward Tyler Seibring, leads the team with a 16.9 ppg average while also pulling down 5.5 rebounds per game in his final year with the Phoenix
  • While Steven Santa Ana has played and started in 24 games averaging 14.9 ppg and 6.4 rpg while dishing out 51 assists
  • Sheldon Eberhardt is leading the team with 80 assists

ALL-TIME SERIES
  • This will be just the 10th meeting between the two teams in a series that the Huskies lead 6-3
  • The Huskies are on a four-game win-streak over the Phoenix entering Saturday's contest
  • Northeastern is looking to sweep the Phoenix for the second-straight season

LAST TIME VS. ELON

  • It took an overtime period, but the Huskies earned an 81-70 victory over Elon, marking the Huskies' fourth-straight over Elon, in their first appearance at the Schar Center
  • A steal and score by Donnell Gresham with 37 seconds left in the second half, evened the game at 63-all
  • After the Phoenix built up a two-point lead on a pair of Tyler Seibring free throws, while trying wind some time off the clock, Nathan Priddy got his pocket picked by Gresham, who then laid in the game-tying basket forcing the extra period
  • In overtime, Vasa Pusica started things off with a couple of buckets, as the Huskies built up an eight-point lead and never looked back
  • Five different Huskies netted double-digit scoring nights as Pusica led the way with 19 points and seven assists while Donnell Gresham picked up his third double-double of the season with 11 points and 10 rebounds
  • The duo of Steven Santa Ana and Seibring once again led the way for Elon combining for 42 of Elon's 70 points

  1. Extra Time

  • Northeastern is 1-1 this season in overtime periods, with both of the games coming in conference play
  • The Huskies fell in double-OT 82-80 to Delaware (4-1) in their second game of the conference season, but pulled off an 81-70 OT victory over Elon on Jan. 10

• All-Time:
            • Record in OT games: 38-24
            • Record in 2OT games: 7-7
            • Record in 3OT games: 1-2

  1. We're going streaking

  • Entering Saturday's game, Donnell Gresham continues on somewhat of a little streak
  • Over the last eight games, he has capitilized on every free throw attempt, knocking down 21 in a row
  • The streak commenced following a 2-for-3 night for Gresham at Hofstra (Jan. 5)
  • Because of the streak, Gresham has improved his free throw shooting from .765 to .833, seventh in the CAA
  • During the same time, and after a 1-for-4 night against Hofstra, Pusica also went on a tear hitting 27-straight free throws before missing the first of his 10 attempts against Hofstra
  • He still went 8-for-10 against the Pride and since the streak commenced has improved his shooting from .745 from the line, to .844, fifth in the conference
  • Last time out, Pusica finished 6-of-6 against the Tribe improving to 41 of his last 43 free throws
