Liam Pecararo signs ATO with Springfield Thunderbirds

BOSTON – After concluding his collegiate career last weekend, Northeastern men's hockey senior Liam Pecararo has signed an amateur tryout agreement with the Springfield Thunderbirds, the AHL affiliate of the Florida Panthers. Pecararo will join the club this week and could make his professional debut as early as Wednesday night against Hartford.

The Canton, Mass. native is coming off a 30-point season at Northeastern where he recorded 11 goals and 19 assists, good for third on the team. He finished the year with 12 points (five goals, seven assists) in his last 10 games, including one game-winning goal and two game-winning assists.

Pecararo had point streaks of four games at three points during the season, highlighted by nine points in four games (three goals, six assists) thanks to his first career hat trick in a seven-point weekend at New Hampshire on Feb. 22-23, earning Hockey East Player of the Week honors in the process.

He also scored Northeastern's lone goal in the NCAA tournament game against Cornell on Mar. 30, and finished the year with three power play goals and a +7 rating.
