PRINCETON, N.J. – The Northeastern men's and women's track and field teams continued their journey through the postseason this past weekend, traveling to Princeton University for the ECAC/IC4A Championships. There, the men placed fourth overall out of 44 teams with 35 points, while the women's 40 points placed them fifth out of 45.

Alexander Korczynski provided the highlight of the meet for the men, earning silver in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 8:53.85. That time is about a six-second improvement on the freshman's previous best of 8:59.73, both of which have placed him second on the all-time program performance list in the event.

Jordan Samuels medaled as well, taking bronze in the 110-meter hurdles (14.63). Samuels also placed sixth in the triple jump with a distance of 14.41 meters.
Dametrius O'Connor ran a 21.89 200-meter to finish eighth, and
Connor Donovan came in 16th in the 800-meter (1:52.15).

Spencer McKeough threw for 16.38 meters in the shot put, earning sixth place, with
Andrew Cannistraci (15.03) trailing behind in 15th.
Mark Puglia rounded out the throwing events with a new personal best in the javelin throw (62.52m), good for fourth on the all-time program performance list.

Both relay teams found success, with the 4x100 team (
Naukym Morton,
Anthony Roderick, O'Connor,
David Adams) placing sixth and the 4x400 team (
Quinn Litherland,
Mayowa Osunsami,
Phillips Magre,
Austin Lin) finishing fourth.

The women saw four new program top-10 marks at the meet, all landing in the top five all-time.
Sydney Salas raced to a time of 9:59.85 in the 3,000-meter, placing third in the event and fourth on the all-time program outdoor performance list.
Kerri Ruffo followed suit in the 5,000-meter (16:47.65), also finishing third while moving into fifth on the program outdoor performance list.

Already sitting in a tie for fifth all-time,
Leah Saifi sprung herself into sole possession of fifth on the NU outdoor performance list in the pole vault with a height of 3.81 meters, earning fourth in the event. The final top-10 mark came from
Monae Cooper, who finished eighth in the hammer throw (56.97m) and moved from sixth into fourth on the all-time program performance list.

Erica Belvit also competed in the hammer throw, placing third with a throw of 61.33 meters that came just short of her current program record (62.04m). The Huskies placed well in other throwing events as well, with
Leeyan Redwood winning bronze in the shot put (14.24m) and
Zoe Taitel taking fourth in the discus throw (42.89m).

Katie Hanlon finished 11th in the 400-meter (59.60), while
Aparna Alavilli ran to an 11th-place time (37:56.16) in the 10,000-meter.
Paige Suse placed fourth in the high jump (1.72m),
Khailah Griffin finished 11th in the long jump (5.56m), and
Shraeya Srinivasan took home 10th in the triple jump (11.36m).

Up next for the Huskies is the NCAA East Preliminary Championships in Jacksonville, Fla., taking place May 23-25. The top 48 athletes from the East region on each individual event's performance list qualify for the meet, with this past weekend being the last eligible weekend to qualify. Five Northeastern student-athletes currently meet these criteria, as listed below. Official entry lists will be posted on the NCAA website the week prior to the competition.
