Huskies close out competition at BU, Clemson

BOSTON— The Northeastern men's and women's track and field teams closed out competition at the Boston University Multi-Meet with eight Huskies claiming a first-place finish.
 
On the men's side, Dametrius O'Connor placed first in the 200-meter with a time of 21.58, a personal-best. Phillips Magre placed second in the 200-meter with a personal-best time of 21.69 and he claimed a first-place finish in the 400-meter (48.49). Andrew Cannistraci claimed a first-place finish in the shot put (15.63m). Alexander Korczynski posted a PR in the 1000-meter with a time of 2:27.02.
 
On the women's side, Jillian Lombardi had a PR in the triple jump (11.65m). Leeyan Redwood and Erica Belvit continued their dominance in the shot put and weight throw, respectively. Redwood finished in first-place (15.39m) and Belvit took home a first-place finish as well (18.56m). Leah Saifi picked up a first-place finish in the pole vault (3.65m).
 
At the Clemson Invite, Naukym Morton, David Adams, Mayowa Osunsami and Donatien Djero closed out competition for the Huskies. Morton placed fourth in the 60-meter (6.96) and Adams finished in fifth in the 200-meter (21.77) and fourth in the 60-meter hurdles (8.03).

The Huskies are back in action at the New England Championships, beginning on Friday, Jan. 31.
