BOSTON – After notching the 23-point win against Hofstra on Sunday during its CAA opener, the Northeastern women's basketball team will begin its first conference road trip of the season on Friday, Jan. 10, when NU visits Drexel for a 2019 CAA semifinal rematch. Friday's game, scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Daskalakis Athletic Center, will air live locally on NBC Sports Philadelphia Plus while all CAA regular season games are available to watch online via FloHoops.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW
1.
2019 CAA Semifinal Rematch:Â Northeastern and Drexel went the distance during their thrilling 2019 CAA semifinal matchup last March at Delaware's Bob Carpenter Center. Neither side held more than a six-point lead during regulation as the sixth-seeded Huskies kept the tournament's highest remaining seed (No. 2) on upset alert throughout the day. NU had the chance to break the game's 54-54 tie during the closing seconds of the fourth quarter, but
Shannon Todd misfired from downtown at the buzzer, resulting in overtime. There, Drexel scored during its opening two possessions, controlling the lead through the end of its 73-69 win.
Ayanna Dublin led Northeastern's corps of four double-digit scorers – finishing with 16 points and nine rebounds – while the Dragons' Bailey Greenberg posted 15 points and 15 rebounds.
Â
2.
Scouting the Dragons: Drexel dropped seven positions to No. 23 in collegeinsider.com's Monday reveal of the Women's Mid-Major Top 25 rankings. The Dragons rank No. 72 in the RPI and earned a quadrant two victory against Villanova on Dec. 4, despite losing their CAA opener last Friday at College of Charleston. Bailey Greenberg – the 2018-19 CAA Player of the Year – leads both Drexel and the CAA in scoring (20.8 points per game) this season and has helped contribute to the Dragons' league-leading rebounding defense (33.3 per game) and second best scoring defense (59.2 points per game).
Â
3.
Series Edge:Â The Huskies are pursuing their first series win (and first road win) against Drexel since January 2016, when then-rookie
Jess Genco converted the game-tying, three-point play during the final seconds of the fourth quarter to force overtime. NU proceeded to shut out the Dragons during the extra period, 8-0, achieving its first CAA road win during
Kelly Cole's head coaching tenure. Since then, Northeastern and Drexel have contested three postseason games, including two entertaining semifinal showdowns (2016, 2019).
