BOSTON – Hockey East announced schedule changes for women's hockey, which includes No. 2 Northeastern opening on Dec. 4-5. The home opener for the second-ranked Huskies will be on Saturday, Dec. 5, and will be televised on NESN inside Matthews Arena at 2 p.m.
The Huskies are the preseason favorites to win their third straight Hockey East regular-season title and are looking for their fourth consecutive tournament championship. Northeastern won an NCAA-best 32 games in 2019-20 and finished Hockey East with 48 points (24-3 record), nine ahead of second-place Boston University. Northeastern moved up one spot in the national rankings to No. 2, matching its highest-ever ranking in the USCHO.com Poll and received four first-place votes (
Nov. 23 Poll).
Fans will not be permitted inside Matthews Arena for the remainder of 2020.
