BOSTON - Northeastern will continue its road swing at Old Dominion on Sunday for a 2 p.m. tip that will be streamed on ODUSports.com. The Huskies (1-2) and Monarchs (2-2) are old Colonial Athletic Association foes and ODU holds a 9-5 advantage in the all-time series.
COEN CHASING HISTORY
Bill Coen enters his 15th season as the head coach at Northeastern and is No. 2 all-time in school history with 242 wins and second in CAA history with 163 regular season and tournament wins. Coen is chasing Hall of Fame coach Jim Calhoun's 250 wins from 1972-86. The Huskies lead the CAA with 146 wins in league play since Coen's arrival and made NCAA tournament appearances in 2015 and '19.
WALKER AND TELFORT COLLECT CAA WEEKLY HONORS
Sophomore Tyson Walker and freshman Jahmyl Telfort earned CAA weekly honors, announced by the league office on Monday. Walker, a native of Westbury, N.Y., averaged 24.5 points and 5.0 assists per game in a split against UMass to start the season. He currently sits second in the CAA with 4.7 assists per game.
Telfort, a native of Boucherville, Quebec, averaged 12.0 points and 3.0 assists per game in the opening weekend series against the Minutemen. The 6-foot-7 guard leads the CAA in three-point field goal percentage (.750) and ranks ninth in the country. He finished with a team-best 16 points at Syracuse on Wednesday.
