NABC All-District Teams
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Northeastern's
Jordan Roland was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-District 10 first team, announced by the NABC on Monday. Roland, a native of Syracuse, N.Y., won the CAA scoring title and finished No. 10 in the country at 21.9 points per game.
A senior guard, Roland broke the single-game scoring record with 42 points in a win over Harvard (11/8) inside Matthews Arena, and his 722 points this season ranks second all-time in school history, moving past the late great Reggie Lewis' 714 points in 1985-86 and behind Lewis' 748 points in 1984-85. He was the third-fastest player to reach 1,000 points in school history (56 games), finished 17th all-time with 1,220 points in just two seasons at Northeastern (1,496 in his career) and broke the career free-throw percentage record at .890 (194-for-218).
Roland earned All-CAA first team honors earlier this season and was recently named to the USBWA All-District I team. He joins Hofstra's Desure Buie, Delaware's Nate Darling, William & Mary's Nathan Knight and Charleston's Grant Riller on the NABC All-District 10 first team. Roland's 95 3-pointers this season ranks third all-time in NU history.
This marks the eighth consecutive season that Northeastern has been represented on the NABC All-District teams.Â
Vasa Pusica became the first player to earn first-team accolades in consecutive years (2018 and '19) last season since the late Reggie Lewis did so in three straight years from 1985-87. Roland is the eighth player to garner first-team honors during the
Bill Coen era.
