RICHMOND, Va. – Recognized among the best on- and off-court leaders in the CAA during the 2019-20 regular season, two Northeastern women's basketball student-athletes have received year-end conference honors, as announced during Tuesday's presentation of the league's Postseason Awards Show.

Sophomore forward Alexis Hill celebrated selections to both the All-CAA Second Team and the CAA All-Defensive Team while senior guard Shannon Todd was honored as the recipient of the conference's revered Dean Ehlers Leadership Award.

Debuting in the Huskies' starting rotation this season, Hill excelled inside the 3-point line, anchoring Northeastern's interior offense and defense. The second-year forward paced the Huskies in scoring and rebounding average, ending the regular season as one of six CAA players who ranked among the league's top 15 scorers (13.1 points per game) and its top 10 rebounders (6.4 per game).

With an intimidating wingspan, Hill routinely showcased her defensive prowess, becoming the second Northeastern player to earn a spot on the CAA All-Defensive Team and the first since the 2013-14 season (Jewel Tunstull). As of March 9, the Huskies' paint policer ranked among the top 30 NCAA Division I players in steals per game (2.5) while her 35 blocks crack the program's 10 best seasons all-time.

Captain and four-year starter of the Huskies, Todd becomes the first Northeastern women's basketball player to garner the distinguished Dean Ehlers Leadership Award across program history. Named after the former James Madison athletic director and CAA founding member, Dean Ehlers, the award is presented annually to a CAA men's and women's student-athlete who, "embodies the highest standards of leadership, integrity and sportsmanship in conjunction with [his or her] academic athletic achievement."

While in pursuit of her master's degree in criminology and criminal justice, Todd has averaged 9.7 points and 3.1 rebounds across her 29 starts this season, leading the Huskies with 55 3-point field goals at a 37-percent perimeter shooting clip.

Todd's leadership carries well off the court and into the community. She has served as a mentor to Malika – Northeastern's teammate who the Huskies have befriended through the You're With Us! organization. In nearby neighborhoods, Todd has dedicated her time to volunteering at the Children's Services of Roxbury and at Boston Public Schools where she has taught basketball clinics, tutored students and directed after-school activities.

Named an 'aspiring leader' as a sophomore by the Northeastern Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), Todd recently completed her bachelor's degree in criminal justice and psychology with a 3.5 GPA, garnering six CAA Commissioner's Honor Roll mentions and three Northeastern Dean's List distinctions.

Together, Hill and Todd will lead Northeastern onto the postseason stage on Thursday, March 12, when the fifth-seeded Huskies meet fourth-seeded Towson in the CAA quarterfinals. Tip-off at Elon's Schar Center is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. while all tournament games may be viewed live on FloHoops.
