RICHMOND, Va. – Responding to the cancellation of the 2020 CAA Women's Basketball Championship presented by Sonabank, the Colonial Athletic Association announced on Thursday revisions to its schedule of future women's basketball tournament sites and host institutions from 2021 to 2025.

As approved by the athletic directors of the league's 10 member institutions, the CAA Women's Basketball Championship will now return to Schar Center on the campus of Elon University in March 2021. The decision followed collective support for Elon, which had its service as the 2020 tournament host interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic before the event's quarterfinal round.

From 2022 to 2025, the conference's next four championship sites will remain in order yet move one year later as previously scheduled.

The following information was published by the CAA on April 9, 2020. Please visit caasports.com for more information:

2022 • JAMES MADISON
The 2022 championship will take place in James Madison's state-of-the-art Atlantic Union Bank Center, which is set to open during the 2020-21 school year. The Dukes have hosted the CAA Women's Basketball Championship six times to date, most recently in 2017. The new arena will have a seating capacity of 8,500 and include premium seating experiences.

2023 • TOWSON
Towson's SECU Arena will play host to the 2023 championship. The Tigers will be hosting the championship for the first time in program history. Towson captured its first-ever CAA title in 2018-19. SECU Arena features 5,200 seats and 340 club seats as well as a center hung video display and scoreboard.

2024 • DREXEL
The 2024 championship will be heading to Philadelphia for just the second time in tournament history. Drexel's Daskalakis Athletic Center hosted the 2018 CAA Women's Basketball Championship. The 'DAC' has a capacity of 2,500.

2025 • WILLIAM & MARY
For the first time in tournament history, William & Mary will host the CAA Women's Basketball Championship. The 2025 championship will take place in the Tribe's Kaplan Arena, which is undergoing extensive renovations over the next two years.
