KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Northeastern men's basketball team earned a program-best 3.417 grade point average in the spring, and tallied a team GPA of 3.257 for the 2019-20 academic calendar to earn the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Team Academic Excellence Award, announced by the NABC on Wednesday. The Huskies are coming off their third straight Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) title game appearance, becoming just the fifth program in CAA history to make three consecutive championship games.
Making the grade for the NABC Honors Court are recent graduatesÂ
Maxime Boursiquot (biology) and
Myles Franklin (psychology). Boursiquot ranked third in the CAA with a .569 field goal percentage and was named to the CAA All-Tournament Team, while Franklin played in 29 of 33 games and scored a career-high 10 points at Holy Cross (11/19).
NABC Honors Court recognizes student-athletes that are at least a junior or senior academically and achieve a minimum GPA of 3.2. Despite earning a perfect 4.0 GPA in the spring and a 3.929 cumulative GPA for the year, senior
Bolden Brace was not eligible due to graduating early and being recognized as a graduate student by the NABC. Brace was named to the CAA All-Tournament Team and finished No. 4 all-time in school history with 230 3-pointers made. He went over 1,000 points and finished No. 23 on the all-time scoring list with 1,178 points.
