Tyson Walker Named CAA Player of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. - Northeastern's Tyson Walker earns Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Week for the second time this season, announced by the league office on Monday. Walker, a native of Westbury, N.Y., led the Huskies to a sweep over Hofstra last weekend and Northeastern's first 4-0 start since the 2016-17 season.

On Thursday night, Walker led the Huskies from 19 points down in the second half with 11 points and a career-high nine assists in a thrilling 81-78 come-from-behind overtime victory. He added four steals in a career-high 43 minutes played. On Saturday, Walker led the charge in the second half, going 5-for-8 from behind the arc in the final 13 minutes, including three consecutive 3-pointers, to lead Northeastern to a 67-56 victory inside the Cabot Center. He finished with a game-high 23 points, five assists and a career-high 7-of-13 from beyond the arc.

The Huskies begin the CAA season 4-0 for just the fourth time in program history. Walker and Northeastern will travel to Charleston, S.C. for a two-game series at College of Charleston this Saturday and Sunday. The Cougars are coming off a sweep over Drexel and are 3-1, just one game back of the Huskies.
