BOSTON – Coming off a momentous win on Tuesday at James Madison, the Northeastern women's basketball team will look to dethrone the other defending CAA regular season champion this weekend when the Huskies host Drexel at Cabot Center on Saturday, Jan. 30, and Sunday, Jan. 31. Both games will air live on NESNplus with coverage beginning both days at 12 p.m.

GAME DEDICATIONS
As part of the Northeastern women's basketball team's commitment this season (and every season) to ending racism and police brutality, the Huskies will be dedicating their two home games against Drexel to the memories of Alton Sterling (Saturday) and Kimani Gray (Sunday).

Northeastern is proud to make the social justice conversation a movement and not a moment. The Huskies' Black Lives Matter warmup shirts, as worn during the 2020-21 season, symbolize this goal and reflect the team's stance that no matter who you are, you are equal.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW
1. Giant Killers:  As of Jan. 27, Northeastern is one of two NCAA Division I women's programs to have defeated preseason favorites from multiple conferences in true road environments this season (along with North Carolina Central). The Huskies – who have won three of their last four games – have recently picked up victories at Manhattan (MAAC favorite) and at James Madison (CAA favorite), the latter of which marked Northeastern's first-ever true road win against the Dukes (15th opportunity).

2. Stell-a! STELL-A!:  Senior point guard Stella Clark heads into this weekend's CAA set against Drexel having dominated the second half of the Huskies' Jan. 26 victory at James Madison. The Preseason All-CAA Second Team selection scored 25 of her career-high-tying 28 points after halftime, where she shot 8-for-12 from the field and buried four of her five 3-pointers. Clark previously scored 28 points during the second outing of her rookie season, helping Northeastern extend to overtime against Providence during the teams' 98-95 affair at Cabot Center in Nov. 2017. This weekend, Clark is pitted against Drexel point guard Maura Hendrixson, who ranks immediately behind Clark in assists per game among CAA players – Clark second (4.6 per game) and Hendrixson third (4.4). Clark also continues to rank second among CAA players in both free throw percentage (88.0) and minutes per game (37.8).

3. To Slay the Dragons:  This weekend, Northeastern is seeking its first series victory against Drexel during its 13th and 14th tries since Jan. 8, 2016. The Huskies' last home win against the Dragons took place on Feb. 23, 2014, during a thrilling double-overtime affair (78-73).
