ATLANTA – After hitting 10 three-pointers to go into the locker room tied at 42, the Northeastern men's basketball team (0-2) saw Georgia State (2-0) shoot 59% in the second half and use a 24-4 run to knock off the Huskies on Friday afternoon at the GSU Sports Arena, 83-64.

Chris Doherty (5-of-8, seven rebounds, four assists) and
Nikola Djogo (4-of-9 overall, 4-of-7 from three) led three Huskies in double figures with 14 points apiece, while
Jahmyl Telfort added 11 points and four assists) for a Northeastern team that had 17 assists on 22 made field goals (22-of-51).

Corey Allen (25) and Justin Roberts (22) took over for the Panthers, which shot 49% overall (33-of-67), 12-of-26 from deep and outscoring the Huskies 20-2 on the break and holding a 37-26 edge on the glass.

• The Huskies started out hot, shooting 80% from deep before a 9-2 Georgia State run gave the Panthers an 11-point lead midway through the first half.
• Northeastern, though, used a 13-3 run of its own over 2:39 to claw its way back into it and headed to the locker room thanks to a deep three from
Shaquille Walters at the buzzer to make it 42-42 at the break.
• NU shot 56% overall (14-of-25) and 59% from three (10-of-17) in the opening 20 minutes, while Georgia State shot 42% (16-of-38) with Corey Allen (11) and Nelson Phillips (10) in double digits.
• The Panthers came out firing in the second half, using a 24-4 run over nearly eight minutes to command control and never look back, led by nine points from Allen.

Northeastern will return to Boston for its home opener on Tuesday when the Huskies host Boston University at 7 p.m. from Matthews Arena.
