BOSTON – Senior
Alexander Korczynski broke the indoor school record with a time of 13:58.76 in the men's 5,000 meters to lead the Northeastern track and field teams on Saturday, Dec. 4 at the Boston University Indoor Opener.
Eight different athletes, including Korczynski, posted Northeastern Top-10 performances during their first indoor meet of the season.
- Freshman Ethan Exilhomme started his collegiate career off strong by winning the men's 60-meter hurdles. Exilhomme ran a time of 7.98, the second-best indoor time in school history.
- Sophomore Savion Thompson placed third in the men's 60-meter hurdles with a personal-best time of 8.13. Thompson now ranks seventh on the NU Indoor All-Time Top 10 list.
- Sophomore Tessa McClain finished 20th in the women's 3,000 meters with the third-best time in Northeastern indoor history (9:39.50, PB).
- Junior Nicholas Young ran the program's eighth-best indoor time (8:17.70, PB) in the men's 3,000 meters, finishing 18th in the event.
- Sophomore Abigail Hassman recorded NU's fifth-best indoor time in the women's 5,000 meters (16:53.42, PB).
- Sophomore Azza Borovicka-Swanson ran a career-best time of 17:03.46 in the women's 5,000 meters. Borovicka-Swanson now ranks seventh on NU's Indoor All-Time Top 10 list.
- Junior Dominique Biron placed second in the women's long jump. Her career-best mark of 5.78 meters (18-12) ranks eighth on the NU Indoor All-Time Top 10 list.
The Huskies will be back in action next weekend as they travel to the URI Pentathlon on Friday, Dec. 10 and host the Joe Donahue Game on Saturday, Dec. 11.
