NEWTON, Mass. – Sarah Coyle scored her first career goal to lead Northeastern (1-4, 0-0 CAA) as they fell to No. 16 Boston College (4-4, 0-3 ACC) 7-3 at Newton Field Hockey Complex on Wednesday.
Lauren Rowe put the Huskies on the board in the second quarter when she scored her CAA leading fourth goal of the season off a penalty stroke that was drawn off the combined offensive efforts of
Mak Graves and
Melanie Weber.
In the third quarter,
Angela Connolly scored her first goal of the season off a shot by Rowe and then later in the quarter,
Lexie Dunleavy registered an assist as she drove into Boston College's circle and found Coyle who finished the play to cut the Eagles lead in half.
Erin Savage made eight saves on the day while facing 15 shots on goal and eight corners.
Elizabeth Warner, Lois Lekawael and Margo Carlin each scored two goals for the Eagles while Emily Hauck added one as well.
Northeastern will return to Dedham Field on Saturday as they take on Towson at 1 p.m. in their first CAA match of the season.
