BOSTON - Defenseman
Jordan Harris has been named captain for the 2021-22 men's hockey season, announced by Fernie Flaman Head Men's Hockey Coach
Jim Madigan on Wednesday.
The Hobey Baker nominee, Walter Brown Award semifinalist (
story) and 2020-21 assistant captain, finished the season tied for the team lead in assists (13) and third on the team in points (19).
"It means the world to be voted as a captain from our coaches and our teammates and peers, " Harris said. "It's a huge honor and really special to me."
The Montreal Canadiens 2018 third round draft pick averaged a point per game this season and finished third in Hockey East defenseman scoring (6-13-19) despite playing in six less games than the two ahead of him tied for first with 20 points a piece. The incoming senior was fourth in power play points (4-7-11) in Hockey East and the point man of the best power play in Hockey East and fourth best in the nation at 26.9%.

Jim Madigan said. "He has been a leader on our team for the last few years and this is a natural progression for him to assume the captaincy and lead our team back to the championship level that we expect for our program."
Harris received two Hockey East awards this past season including being named a Hockey East Second-Team All-Star (
story) along with teammate
Zach Solow and Hockey East Player of the Week
(story) in December. Harris had at least one point in 11 out of his 19 games played this season, six of which were multi-point nights.
In 91 career games, the Haverhill, Mass. native has 53 points (10 goals, 43 assists), while scoring the most memorable goal of the 2019-20 season in double overtime against Boston University to win the Huskies their third straight Beanpot Championship.
