COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Incoming freshmen forwards Jack Hughes and Ryan St. Louis were named to the 2021 U.S. Under-18 Men's National Team, announced by USA Hockey on Thursday. The team will play in the 2021 International Ice Hockey Federation Under-18 Men's World Championship held from April 26-May 6 in Texas.
Hughes, 17, will be starting his freshman year for the Huskies this fall after playing the last two seasons with the USA Hockey National Team Development Program (USNTDP) in Ann Arbor, Mich. During that time on the USNTDP juniors team, he posted nine goals and 17 assists over 43 games. He also has seven goals with 25 assists in 34 games on the U.S. National Under-18 Team. The Westwood, Mass. native is the brother of current Northeastern forward
Riley Hughes and is eligible for the 2022 NHL Draft.
St. Louis, 17, is the son of NHL Hall of Famer Martin St. Louis and will also be entering his freshman year for the Huskies this fall after playing the last two seasons with the USA Hockey National Team Development Program (USNTDP). The Riverside, Conn. native has 14 goals and 12 assists in 50 games on the USNTDP juniors team. He has also played in 43 games for the U.S. National Under-18 Team and has 13 goals with 18 assists over that time. St. Louis is eligible for the 2021 NHL Draft.
