BOSTON – The Northeastern men's ice hockey community mourns the loss of Wade MacLeod, a former Huskies standout who passed away at the age of 38 after a courageous battle with brain cancer. MacLeod, who played for Northeastern from 2007-2011, left a lasting mark on the program both on and off the ice.
A four-year letterwinner of the Huskies, MacLeod served as an assistant captain during his senior season and cemented himself as one of the program's most productive forwards. A two-time Hockey East All-Star selection, he ranks 24
th on Northeastern's all-time scoring list with 137 career points, recording 61 goals and 76 assists in 149 games played. A member of Northeastern's team that reached the 2009 NCAA Tournament, he led the Huskies in scoring for three consecutive seasons as a sophomore, junior and senior, and paced the team in goals, assists and points during his senior campaign in 2010-11.
During his time at Northeastern, MacLeod was named the Ed Arrington Memorial Rookie of the Year as the team's top rookie in 2008 before earning Team MVP honors as a senior in 2011, concluding his collegiate career as the program leader in career games played (149).

Following graduation, MacLeod went on to a nine-year professional career that spanned the ECHL, AHL and European leagues in Germany and the United Kingdom.

The Northeastern community extends its deepest condolences to the MacLeod family, his former teammates and all who were touched by his life and career. He is survived by his wife, Karly, and their two daughters.
