  • The Huskies are 14-9 in elimination games of the CAA tournament
  • Northeastern is 26-1 when scoring first
  • NU is playing in its second CAA Championship Game, searching for its first title
    • Lost to UNCW, 7-4, in 2018
  • The 35 wins ranks second all-time in program history
    • 36 in 2018
    • 35 in 1994, '97 and '21
    • 33 in 1997
  • The Huskies are No. 35 in the latest RPI rankings, UNCW is No. 57
  • Northeastern is 29-2 on the year when leading after 7 innings
  • The Red and Black are 17-1 when scoring in the 1st inning
    • Only loss was to UNCW in CAA tournament
  • The Huskies are 7-5 all-time at the CAA tournament as the No. 1 seed
  • Northeastern is 16-19 all-time at the CAA tournament
  • The Huskies are batting .294 with 8 home runs in the tournament

NU-UNCW SERIES NOTES
  • Northeastern is 3-6 all-time against UNCW in the CAA tournament
  • This marks the second time these teams have met in the CAA Championship Game
  • The Huskies snapped a 3-game losing streak to the Seahawks in the tournament
  • UNCW leads the all-time series 32-15-1
  • The Huskies and Seahawks met in the 2018 CAA Championship where Northeastern defeated UNCW, 3-2, but then fell 7-4 in the winner-take-all game

Sophomore Jared Dupere (RF)
  • Tied with Malgeri with 3 home runs in the tournament
  • Tied the single-season school record with 20 home runs
    • Frank Pesanello (2018)
  • Batting .313 with 4 RBIs
  • Named CAA Player of the Year
  • All-CAA first team
  • Holds the single-season school record with an .806 slugging percentage
 
Junior Ian Fair (1B)
  • Has reached base in 24 consecutive games
  • Batting .333 in the tournament with 1 home run
  • Stole 2 bases in the tourney
 
Senior Scott Holzwasser (DH)
  • Batting .294 with 5 RBIs in the tournament
  • Went 2-for-5 with 2 runs scored in the win over UNCW
  • Stole 22-of-28 bases this season
  • Injured his ankle in the final regular-season series at Towson
  • School record holder in career runs scored (170), HBP (53) and stolen bases (80)
  • All-CAA first team selection
 
Sophomore Ben Malgeri (CF)
  • Leads the team with a .444 batting average in the tournament
  • Tied with Dupere with 3 home runs (2 last night vs. UNCW)
  • Drove in a tourney-best 6 runs and has a .944 slugging percentage in the CAA tournament
  • 2-for-3 in stolen bases in the CAA postseason
 
Freshman Max Viera (2B)
  • Reached base in 31 of 32 games played this season
  • Hitting .316 in the tournament with a double, triple and RBI
  • Is 2-for-2 in stolen bases
  • With Holzwasser injury, starting at second base for the first time this season (Started in final game at Towson)
  • All-CAA first team selection, CAA All-Rookie Team
 
Head Coach Mike Glavine
  • Led the Huskies to a CAA record 18-0 start to the conference season
  • Huskies won a single-season school record 20 consecutive games from April 7-May 15
  • Approaching 200 career wins, currently has 194, most by any NU coach in a 7-year stretch
  • Selected by his peers as one of the most underrated head coaches in the country by Baseball America in 2020
  • Named CAA Coach of the Year for the third time this season (2017, '18, '21)
