Looking Back: Huskies Finish with Historic Campaign

BOSTON
 - The Northeastern baseball team made history with a single-season school record 36 wins, a 20-game winning streak and won its first CAA tournament championship in dramatic fashion. The Huskies won a school record 20 conference games and advanced to their second NCAA regional in the last three NCAA tournaments.

TEAM HIGHLIGHTS 
  • Set a single-season school record with 36 wins and .750 winning percentage
  • Ranked No. 4 in the country with 118 stolen bases and win-loss percentage
  • No. 3 in the country in WHIP (1.14), No. 5 in earned run average (3.23), No. 6 in hits allowed per game (7.42) and No. 9 in fielding percentage (.981)
  • Led the CAA in batting average, ERA, fielding percentage and stolen bases
  • The Huskies won the CAA North Division Title and CAA tournament title for the first time
  • Went on a program-best 20-game winning streak (April 7-May 15)
  • Made their ninth NCAA appearance and second under head coach Mike Glavine (2018)
  • Northeastern smashed 12 home runs and scored 37 runs over five games at the conference tournament
INDIVIDUAL HIGHLIGHTS
  • Jared Dupere named CAA Player of the Year and All-American
  • Dupere set single-season school records with 21 home runs and a .781 slugging percentage
  • Cam Schlittler and Max Viera were named to the Collegiate Baseball Freshmen All-American team
  • Dupere, Schlittler, Viera, Kyle Murphy and Scott Holzwasser earned All-CAA first-team accolades
  • Schlittler collected CAA Rookie of the Year honors
  • Head Coach Mike Glavine was named CAA Coach of the Year for the third time in his career (2017, '18, '21)
  • Schlittler, Viera and Wyatt Scotti named to CAA All-Rookie Team 
  • Viera, Dupere, Schlittler, Ian Fair and Ben Malgeri named to CAA All-Tournament Team
  • Malgeri named Most Outstanding Player of CAA Tournament after smashing five home runs
  • Jeff Costello, Eric Yost and Danny Crossen named to All-CAA Second Team
  • Viera led the team with a .348 batting average and reached base in 34-of-35 games; He hit the walk-off home run in CAA title game in the bottom of the 10th inning
  • Malgeri led the CAA with 23 stolen bases and made the No. 4 play on SportsCenter's Top 10 plays in the CAA Championship Game with an incredible diving catch
  • Holzwasser broke the all-time school record in runs scored (171), stolen bases (80) and HBP (53) and is tied for No. 1 all-time with 132 walks and 217 games played; He posted a school record 44-game on-base streak (2019-21) and finished No. 2 in the CAA with 49 runs scored
  • Holzwasser was the top play on SportsCenter's Top 10 plays twice during the season with an acrobatic slide at second base and an amazing over the shoulder diving catch in shallow center field
