Shaw adds Howard Powell to Coaching Staff

BOSTON — Northeastern track and field head coach Tramaine Shaw announced Howard Powell as the new associate head coach on Tuesday. Powell previously held assistant coaching positions at Stony Brook University and Williams College.
  • Specialized in sprints, hurdles, jumps, throws and multi-events at Stony Brook
  • At Stony Brook, he coached 37 America East Conference champions
  • Had 38 team record holders and 54 ECAC/IC4A qualifiers
  • Coached three U.S Junior finalists, eight NCAA regional qualifiers and one Canadian IAAF World U20 Championship participant 
  • At Williams, he was an assistant coach for sprints and hurdles
  • Coached eight NCAA All-Americans
  • Coached 16 NCAA Championship qualifiers and five team record holders
