McDonough, Levi Earn Hockey East Accolades

BOSTON, Mass. – Captain Aidan McDonough and Devon Levi of the No. 7/8 Northeastern men's ice hockey team claimed weekly awards from Hockey East as announced on Monday. McDonough was named Co-Player of the Week, while Levi earned Goaltender of the Week honors.
 
Both Huskies played a crucial role in Northeastern's weekend sweep over Vermont, including a 5-2 Friday night victory and a 5-0 Saturday night shutout.
 
Aidan McDonough – Hockey East Co-Player of the Week
  • McDonough recorded a five-point weekend (3g, 2a) in the Huskies sweep over the Catamounts. He now leads the Huskies in goals (3), points (5) and points per game (1.67).
  • The weekend was highlighted by McDonough's four-point night (2g, 2a) on Saturday to defeat Vermont, 5-0. This marked the third time in McDonough's career that he's recorded a four-point game.
  • With the honors, McDonough has now earned his second weekly accolade of his career.
 
Devon Levi – Hockey East Goaltender of the Week
  • Levi tallied 38 saves en route to his first sweep of the season. Over the course of the weekend, he recorded a .947 save percentage and a 1.01 GAA.
  • With the Huskies 5-0 shutout on Saturday night, Levi now holds a career shutout record of 11, which is tied for the most career shutouts in program history.
  • Levi has now been named the Goaltender of the Week four times in his career.
 
McDonough, Levi, and the Huskies are back on home ice next weekend against the Providence Friars on Saturday, Oct. 15 at 7:30 p.m. in Matthews Arena. The game will be featured on ESPN+ and tickets are available at NUHuskies.com/tickets.
