BOSTON – The Northeastern men's hockey team officially wrapped the 2024-25 season at their year-end banquet on Wednesday evening.
The team reached 14 wins on the season, earning five victories over top 20 ranked teams in the country, and made their first appearance in the Hockey East semifinals since 2022.
Offensive MVP & DogHouse Fan Favorite Award: Cam Lund
Cam Lund finished the season with career-highs in points (40), goals (18) and assists (22). At the conclusion of the season, Lund signed a professional contract with San Jose, ending his collegiate career with 93 points from 36 goals and 57 assists. Additionally, the assistant captain was named a 2025 Hockey East Third Team All-Star and a 2025 New England Division I All-Star.
Defensive MVP: Vinny Borgesi
In all three categories,
Vinny Borgesi led all NU defensemen with five goals, 17 assists and 22 points. He tallied five multi-point outings, including a season-high three points (1g, 2a) against Brown, and finished with a career-high 51 blocked shots. Additionally, the assistant captain was named Hockey East Defender of the Month for December after posting eight points (2g, 6a) in six games, including point and assist totals that led all NCAA defensemen.
Rookie of the Year: Joe Connor
Joe Connor, a Hockey East Rookie of the Week honoree on March 24, finished the season leading all NU freshmen in goals (7), assists (10) and points (17). The New Hampshire native collected his first multi-point game with both goals in a 2-0 shutout over No. 13 UMass Lowell. Connor recorded two points in three playoff games, including the game-winning goal against top-seeded No. 1 Boston College in the Hockey East Quarterfinals.
Leading Scorer: Jack Williams
This year's captain,
Jack Williams, led the team with 25 assists and 40 points in 37 games played, while adding 16 goals. In back-to-back years, the junior surpassed the 30-point threshold, setting career-highs in both assists and points. The Maine native recorded at least one point in 24 outings, while recording 11 multi-point games, in addition to three power-play goals, three game-winning goals, 105 shots and 42 blocked shots.
Most Improved Player: Joaquim Lemay
The transfer junior,
Joaquim Lemay, made quite the impact for the Huskies in his first season. Lemay finished with 12 points from three goals and nine assists in 30 outings. He added 49 blocks, 4
th-best mark on the team, and 58 shots. The Quebec native scored his first NU goal with the game-tying tally against No. 11 Providence. Additionally, Lemay held a five-game point streak, tallying two goals and four assists for a 1.2 points per game from February 21-March 6.
Unsung Hero & Huskies' Radio Award: Dylan Hryckowian
Dylan Hryckowian proved night after night that the team's success was more important than his own. The sophomore tallied a career-high 36 points from 19 assists and a career-high 17 goals. In Hockey East action, his 15 assists ranked tied for 8
th, while his 22 points ranked tied for 12
th and his 65 shots tied for 15
th best in the league. The Quebec native held two four-game points streaks, tallying six points during both stretches, in addition to recording a three-point game on four occasions.
'Everydayer' Award: Andy Moore
Given to the player that brings his best effort and energy every day – in practice, in the weight room, and in games. Sophomore
Andy Moore finished the season with career-highs in goals (1), assists (3) and points (4) through 36 games. The Maine native scored his first career goal to give NU the lead over No. 4 Maine in the Hockey East semifinals at TD Garden. Moore also finished the year with 27 shots, nine blocks and 114 faceoff wins, including a career-high nine wins against UMass.
Don McKenney Coaches' Award: Kyle Furey
Kyle Furey consistently embodied what Fernie Flaman Head Coach
Jerry Keefe described as "exactly what we want in a Northeastern hockey player." Furey, a 6-0 defenseman, skated on a handful of occasions for NU throughout his three seasons. The Massachusetts native was named to the Hockey East All-Academic Team following the 2023-24 season. In just three years, Furey will earn a bachelor's degree in business administration with a concentration in Marketing this Spring.
