No. 15/17 Northeastern Hits The Road To Maine

BOSTON— The No. 15/17 Northeastern men's hockey team heads to Maine for their first road series of the season to take on the Black Bears beginning on Friday, Oct. 28 at 7:05 p.m. in Harold Alfond Sports Arena. Game two of the series is set for Saturday, Oct. 29 at 7:05 p.m.

Both games will be streamed on ESPN+ and an international stream is available here.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
  1. MILESTONE MADNESS: Two Huskies have hit new career milestones within the first six games of the 2022-23 season. Senior Aidan McDonough recorded his 50th career goal on Oct. 18 as the Northeastern finished in a 3-3 tie against Boston College. Senior Matt DeMelis also set a new career milestone when he took the ice on Oct. 22 against UMass Lowell to skate in his 100th career game. DeMelis has recorded one goal and two assists so far this season for the Huskies.
  2. BEAT THE BEARS: Northeastern has been victorious in the last ten of 11 matchups with Maine, including in 2018-19 Hockey East Quarterfinals. Of those, eight wins came in front of a home crowd at Matthews Arena. In addition to their winning record since the 2017-18 season, Northeastern holds a 39-20 scoring margin over Maine and an 8-2 margin in the 2021-22 season alone.
  3. KEEP THE STREAK: In the Huskies Saturday night contest with the River Hawks, Aidan McDonough and Gunnarwolfe Fontaine each tallied an assist on the evening, both extending their point streak to eight points in the last five games played. McDonough has recorded four goals, leading the team, and four assists while Fontaine has tallied two goals and six assists, most on the team, both for a 1.6 points per game through the last five contests.
