BOSTON -- The Northeastern men's basketball team heads back on the road this weekend when the Huskies travel to Syracuse for a 5 p.m. matchup on Saturday. The game will be televised on the ACC Network as the two teams prepare to meet for the ninth time in series history.
THREE THINGS TO KNOW:Â
1. WON'T BACK DOWN: Northeastern has never been afraid to take on the nation's elite programs during
Bill Coen's 16+ years at Northeastern. During his tenure, the Huskies have earned victories over nine high-major programs, the most among CAA teams in that span. Northeastern has Providence, Syracuse and Georgia Tech on the non-conference schedule in 2022, the third time in the last five seasons that Northeastern has played two ACC opponents.Â
2. ROAD WARRIORS:Â With just three home games during the non-conference season, the Huskies will be earning their frequent flyer miles in 2022 with trips to Boston University, Providence, Syracuse, London, Georgia Tech, UIC and Davidson, a total of 6527 miles.
3. GETTING COMFORTABLE: Freshman Chase Cormier has appeared in all three games for the Huskies, seeing his minutes steadily increase each night (6:24 at BU, 17:41 at Providence, 21:27 vs. Harvard). He leads the Huskies with eight assists on the young season, highlighted by a four assist, zero turnover performance at Providence last week.
