Northeastern Faces UNH, Maine in Weekend Road Trip

BOSTON - The Northeastern women's basketball team (1-2) preps for two road games in a three day stretch this weekend, traveling to the University of New Hampshire (2-2) this Saturday at 1 p.m., and the University of Maine (1-1) on Monday at 7 p.m. Saturday afternoon's contest in Durham will be broadcast on AmericaEast.TV, while Monday's contest in Orono will stream on ESPN+.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
  1. NORTHERN NEW ENGLAND TOUR: The weekend's match ups will feature two America East foes in UNH and Maine - Northeastern has won its last two match ups with the Wildcats, including last season's match up in the Cabot Center, 78-52. Against the Black Bears, Northeastern holds the recent edge with a 3-2 record against Maine in the last five meetings between the two programs. Their last match up was in the 2020-21 season, with the Black Bears eeking out a one-point victory in Boston.
  2. HOT HUSKIES: In their home opener against Boston College, the Huskies shot a season-best .444 from the field, making 24 of their 54 shots. The Huskies were led by Gemima Motema with a game-high 21 points, and Derin Erdogan with 15. Motema has tallied double digits in all three contests so far this season, and Erdogan has reached doubles in two of the three contests.
  3. GET IT DOWN LOW: Northeastern has tallied 66 points in the paint so far in the young season (40% of points scored this season.) Against BC on Tuesday, Northeastern tallied 34 of its 59 points in the paint.
Following the weekend's action, the Huskies will head south for the St. Pete Showcase in St. Petersburg, Florida on Thanksgiving weekend, facing Wisconsin-Green Bay on November 25, and Portland on November 26.
