BOSTON – Trailing by 11 early in the second half, the Northeastern men's basketball team (6-16, 0-11) battled all the way back to lead by four with 8:34 to go, but a quick 9-1 James Madison (13-7, 4-5) run out of the under-8 timeout sent the Dukes to a 76-71 win over the Huskies on Thursday night at Matthews Arena.

Nikola Djogo had a career-high 24 points on 10-of-13 from the floor (4-of-7 from three) as all five Northeastern starters played at least 33 minutes on the night.
Chris Doherty finished with 17 points and 15 rebounds for his fifth double-double of the season and first since January 9, the most for a Husky since
Bolden Brace's six during the 2018-19 season.
Jahmyl Telfort added 10 points for the hosts.

The Huskies, who recorded their fewest turnovers in eight games, shot 50% from the floor on the night and 7-of-24 from deep.

JMU, meanwhile, got 25 points from Vado Morse (9-of-18 overall) to lead three players in double figures. The Dukes were 50% from the field (30-of-60) and 50% from three (7-of-14) on the evening.

• The Huskies came out flying to start the game, hitting three of its first five shots to take a 10-0 lead less than three minutes in, the largest run for either team in the opening half.

• Djogo couldn't miss to start the game, drilling his first four shots including three from deep to keep Northeastern in the lead for much of the first half. He finished the opening 20 minutes with 14 points on 5-of-7 shooting.

• JMU, which shot 52% in the first half, used a 15-5 run over a five-minute span, including eight points from Morse, to take its first lead of the night with 2:17 until the break, 30-29.Â

• The Dukes then used a 9-0 run to close the half to give themselves a seven-point cushion at recess, 39-32.

• Northeastern then used a 13-2 run over nearly five minutes to retake the lead at 62-58 with 8:34 left, but JMU answered with a run of its own to grab the lead right back and maintain it the rest of the way.
